From 1977 until 1980, Hector ate the Noor Mahal most Saturdays after Bier at the Mulberry Hotel which in turn became a Curry House some years later. Unbeknown to Hector at that time, PJ of Panjea/Madras Palace/Heera fame was probably washing dishes.
Meat and Mushroom Bhuna Vindaloo was Hector’s Curry at the Noor Mahal. Even back then there was an awareness that Curry was not Meat swimming in Soup. Maithi Gosht, Kofta and Karala (Karela) Gosht were never considered. Note the absence of any Tandoori dishes, no Chicken Tikka Masala here.
