69 Thomas St, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 1EG
There are a number of Curry Cafes in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Al-Faisal is one of the longest established and stands out above most. In 2018 they left their original premises and crossed the road to a larger unit.
It was on January 22nd, 2011 when Hector had his first ever Manchester Curry. That it was at Al-Faisal in the Northern Quarter and not in Rusholme at the Curry Mile was down to convenience. The Curry Cafes here are busiest at lunchtimes, though since the move, Al-Faisal’s opening hours have been significantly extended, with 01.00 their standard closing time, 05.00 at weekends. Everything is basic, one is here for Fast Food at very affordable prices.

The Curry is precooked and kept warm so it can be served in minutes. Look for the – Specials – on particular days. Kebabs are freshly cooked.
It may have taken Hector ten visits to Al-Faisal, but finally names were put to the faces that have been seen over the years. Salim is virtually ever-present behind the counter and serves up the Fayre. Mein Host, Tariq, may well have taken your order.

The Curry is simple and is served how it is, though there is always Fresh Coriander and Green Chillies on hand to liven up what comes.
