Lahori Badsha – 140 Cheetham Hill Rd, Manchester, England M8 8PZ
Hector started visiting Lahori Badsha in January 2019. The cluster of Curry Cafes near the bottom end of Cheetham Hill Rd. had been spotted from the bus on return from (Lahori) Dera. Dera is quite a schlep to find the opening hours do not match those advertised, Lahori Badsha has always been found open as advertised, namely, all day from 11.00.
On Visit #1, the Curry impressed, of course, as did the welcome. Subsequent visits have sometimes been hindered by a lack of communication, when the front of house chap has next to no English. However, the language of Curry is universal.
The Lamb Karahi is what principally attracts Hector to Lahori Badsha, here they serve authentic Lahori Karahi and variants. Taste-wise, Lahori Karahi is beyond – Curry.
Somewhat confusingly, the menu has – Daily Specials – plus – Curry of The Day – then – Lunch Offers – the fallbacks when dining solo.
