An upstairs venue opposite Queens Park railway station, New Gandhi Indian Restaurant opened on April 24th, 2014 as Danny Singh’s Gandhi. Hector knows, an invite was given for the grand opening, what a night. Danny already had his famous Southside Takeaway (now closed) whose Fayre was delivered to one our famous – Barrel Parties – back in the day. The visit a few weeks after the grand opening was my last until 2019. The food had impressed, however, as a frequent lone diner, the nearby Curry Cafes is where Hector usually spends his Shekels.
New Gandhi Indian Restaurant is a mainstream restaurant, plus. The – Punjabi Desi Dishes – are what makes this venue stand above the mainstream. Being a restaurant proper, the ambience is such that New Gandhi Indian Restaurant is very much a place – to dine. The restaurant is licensed, so for those who require more than soft drinks, other choices are available.
