After years of trying to locate authentic Desi Curry in Belgium, Chilli Grill was discovered by chance one evening having left the adjacent Brussels Beer Project. Since 2018, this has been Hector’s – go-to – Curry House in Brussel.

A Curry Cafe as opposed to a formal restaurant, there is ample seating.

 

We can make traditional, but nobody knows– Shahzad, Mein Host told me on my first visit. Hopefully, Curry-Heute can make a difference.

Mutton may appear on the menu, but The Brothers Alvi always admit that Beef will be served. At these prices, not surprising. Their Mutton (Beef) Karahi is the Dish which has made Hector initially take particular note, truly – in the style, an outstanding Curry. In 2024, in the revamped premises, Mutton qurma proved to be the Hector favourite – Desi Korma.

For those who prefer a wider choice, there is always a display of pre-cooked Indian-Pakistani Dishes, much of it  featuring Vegetables as in Aloo Gobi, Daal, Saag/Spinach. There is something for everyone, surely?

Beware, opening times can vary. Those, like Hector, who prefer to eat early, should phone the previous day to establish the planned opening time.
