Chili’s South Indian Cuisine – Seattle WA – Unites States of America

Chili’s South Indian Cuisine – 4220 University Way NE, Seattle WA, 98105

Four visits only, six years between the first and the most recent, it’s a long way to Seattle from Scotland. When Hector came across Chili’s South Indian Cuisine back in 2018, it was clear that this was a special place. That Anila, the proprietor, then chose to post the second Curry-Heute review on the restaurant wall was made known to Hector by subsequent diners. Hands across the sea, a bond was formed which was further enhanced in 2024.

Sambar, Dosa, Uttapam, Thali, may be the go-to fayre for those with direct connections to the Indian subcontinent, for Hector it’s all about the – Curry. Chili’s serve – South Indian Cuisine – which has characteristics markedly different from the Punjabi Cuisine on which Hector was raised. Be prepared to embrace the rich, smoky, Kerala flavours which are a feature of the Chettinadu, the signature South Indian Curry.

To accompany, there’s the Malabar Parotta, the softest, most buttery of Paratha as served at Chili’s.

Fear not, Curry does not have to be so spicy as to cause discomfort.

You will be asked to choose a Spice Level from one to five.

It’s not a competition!

Chettinadu Goat (Bone-in)

Chettinadu Lamb

Fish Molee Curry

2024 Staff

In September 2024, the group I have a habit of cooking for in Carnoustie (Scotland) descended upon Chili’s. Whilst they described the food as – exceptional – they unfortunately missed Anila by minutes.
